Did a cool shoot with SA Sports Illustrated Swimwear model Joëlle Kayembe yesterday morning. Only had about 20mins for actual shutter pressing before I had to rush to the airport. Anyway, Joëlle was really cool and I suspect we might collaborate in the future.

In an ongoing endeavour to be the hippest-ass photographer with the weirdest taste in music I find myself compelled to let you know that the new Huun-Huur-Tu album is out. It’s called Mother-Earth! Father-Sky! and I find myself utterly spellbound by its charms.
For those of you unfamiliar with HHT, they’re a group of musicians from the remote country of Tuva (formerly part of the U.S.S.R) and specialize in vocal style called xoomei where the singer produces two or three notes simultaneously. Fantastically the Los Angeles Times once wrote “When a Tuvan sings praises of mother and country, which is what a Tuvan usually sings, he often does it in three-part harmony. By himself.”
This is certainly some of the most beguiling and mesmerizing music I’ve heard this year so far. I think this stands a good chance of bothering my top 10 list when it comes time to rounding up the year.
